What we check
The four tests, in plain English
Every screening covers the same four checks. We will explain every number before you leave.
QRISK score
A simple calculation that estimates your chance of having a heart attack or stroke in the next 10 years.
We use your age, blood pressure, cholesterol and a few lifestyle questions - the same tool your GP uses.
HbA1c (blood sugar)
A finger-prick test that shows your average blood sugar over the last 2–3 months.
High blood sugar is one of the biggest drivers of heart disease. Catching it early means you can act early.
Lipid panel
A finger-prick test that measures the different fats in your blood, including triglycerides.
Lipids are fats that move around your bloodstream. The wrong balance can quietly clog arteries for years.
Total & HDL cholesterol
We measure your total cholesterol plus the 'good' kind (HDL) that helps protect your heart.
You will see your numbers on the day and one of our team will explain what they mean for you.

Your first visit, step by step
If you have never been screened before, here is exactly what will happen. The whole appointment takes about 20 minutes.

We ask about your age, family history and a couple of lifestyle bits. Nothing intrusive, no judgement.

A finger-prick test
A tiny prick on your fingertip. Most people say it stings less than they expected. Results come back in minutes.
- Step 3
Blood pressure check
A standard cuff on your arm. Takes about a minute and is completely painless.
- Step 4
A chat about your results
One of our clinicians sits down with you, talks you through your numbers and answers any questions.
